As the lemon light creeps in, like a song that you'd forgotten
That's really a perfect description of Hotel Lights. I can't say much more than that.
Don't know who they are? Here's a description from their site:
Darren Jessee started Hotel Lights after many years of writing songs, playing drums and touring with Ben Folds Five. After leaving the now-famous pop group, Jessee moved from his home base of Chapel Hill, North Carolina to live an ex-pat, anonymous life in New York City. He quietly played solo shows around town, trying out newly written songs and dreaming about making a record.
Realizing Hotel Lights could never be just a solo project, he moved back to NC to put together his ideal band: former Archers of Loaf drummer Mark Price, Roger Gupton (bass, vocals), and Chris Badger (keyboards, guitar). They took their time arranging and rehearsing, eventually recording at the Sound of Music in Virginia, with producer and guitarist Al Weatherhead, now a full-time member of the band.
There's some high-level credibility there. Check them out if you haven't already.
Hotel Lights - you come and i go
Hotel Lights - I am a train
There are three more tracks up at their site, head over there to get them. You won't be disapointed. You can purchase their CD over at CDBaby.
